Our doctors

Our doctors work exclusively in emergency and critical care.

The doctors at Animal Emergency Hospital of Redmond have devoted themselves to consistent improvement in their knowledge and skill.

David Fleming, DVM

Dr. David Fleming realized he wanted to be a veterinarian since the 6th grade. While born in Texas, he spent his high school years in Lynnwood, WA before returning to Texas for college. After receiving a B.S. in Biology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas and a B.S. in Animal Science at Texas A&M, he went on to graduate from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 1992. After a one year internship in Los Angeles, he has practiced exclusively in emergency and critical care. He practiced in California for many years while his wife, Judith, went through medical school and residency. He and his family relocated to the Seattle area in 2006 after his wife finished her training in internal medicine. His family, including 2 young children, quickly grew to love the area and decided to settle here permanently.

Dr. Fleming enjoys skiing, scuba diving, hiking with his wife, computer programming and spending time with his kids. And although he has a special love of big dogs (and has rescued Dobermans in the past), his home is currently shared with 3 rescued guinea pigs.

Dr. Fleming was finally able to realize his dream of a full service, exceptional, exclusively emergency and critical care hospital when Animal Emergency Hospital of Redmond opened its doors in May 2011.

Crystal Hart, DVM

Dr. Crystal Hart was born in Arizona into an Air Force family. She moved around a lot in her younger years until finally settling in Abilene, Texas when her father retired. After spending almost 20 years there, she refers to Texas as “home.” She did her undergraduate and veterinary studies at Texas A&M. She graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. She initially went into rural, mixed-animal practice in Texas where she gained a lot of emergency experience while on call.

She fell in love with the Pacific Northwest during a visit in 2010. She moved to the Kitsap Peninsula and went into general practice there. She has been doing relief shifts here at Animal Emergency Hospital of Redmond since we opened in May of 2011. During that time, she came to enjoy emergency work more and more. She joined us here at AEHR full time as of August 2013.

In her free time, Dr. Hart enjoys reading, cooking, video gaming with her new husband Cole, and occasionally trail riding and motocrossing on her sport quad. She spoils her three dogs, Annie, Tex, and Tucker, and her cat, Nelson, and she extends that love to the families and the pets that she treats.

Samradhni Jha, DVM

Dr. Jha’s love for animals began in early childhood. She was raised with dogs all her life. She knew she wanted to pursue animal care forever and followed her passion to become a veterinarian.

Dr Jha is originally from India. She completed her undergraduate and DVM studies at Nagpur Veterinary College, India. She also received a Master’s degree in Parasitology at Nagpur and an MS from Oregon State University School of Veterinary Medicine. After completing her ECFVG certification, she went into small animal practice in Massachusetts for 3 years. After returning to the Pacific Northwest, she transitioned into emergency care where she can fully utilize her skills and knowledge. She feels most complete as a veterinarian when she sees "her super sick patients walk away happily wagging their tails."

Dr Jha currently lives in Sammamish with her husband Shanti, whom she met while attending Vet school in India. They have a son and a daughter who keep her busy outside of work. She also enjoys the outdoors, hiking, traveling, music and spending quality time with her family.

Michelle Jooss, DVM

Dr Jooss was born and raised in northeastern Wisconsin. Although she likes dogs, cats will always have a special place in her heart. While growing up, her family enjoyed having multiple cats, but that didn't stop her from always wanting "just one more" kitten. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh. Her veterinary degree was earned at the University of Wisconsin - School of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating, she entered emergency practice. She moved to Seattle with her fiance (Jake) and two cats (Lyle and Ali) in June 2014. In her spare time, she enjoys spending quiet time with the family, Zumba and other dance classes, and reading.

Mark Davis, DVM, ACVS, CCRP

Dr. Mark Davis is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) and is a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP). Dr. Davis is a 1993 graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Oklahoma State University and completed his small animal surgical residency at Texas A&M University. He has been board certified since 1999 and has extensive experience in orthopedic, soft tissue/reconstructive and neurosurgical techniques.

Our nurses

We've got some really great people working with our doctors.

All of our nurses strive to continually improve. They do this job because they love it, and they love the pets.

Kristen (Head Nurse)

Kristen was born and raised on a farm in Western Washington. She began working in small animal day practice 5 years ago, and when AEHR opened, she was extremely excited to get the chance to work in emergency medicine. At home, Kristen has a Boxer mix, a black Lab, a Schipperke, and a small handful of cows and horses. When there is time away from the animals and school, she enjoys hiking, camping, baking, and going to cow shows.

Adina (Office Manager)

Adina was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. Earlier in life, she aspired to be a police officer and studied criminal justice, then joined the Army Chemical Corp. Her Army training included leadership training, administrative training, first-aid and CPR as well as weapons training. Since returning to the civilian world, she has spent the bulk of her time working with horses. She has training in English and Western riding but most enjoys bareback and Classic Dressage. She hopes to some day train at the Spanish Riding School. She enjoys working emergency because of the fast pace and new challenges every day. Outside of work, she spends most of her time with her horses, training others to ride, and sharing her knowledge and love of horses.

Julia

Julia moved to the Pacific Northwest about twenty years ago from the Dayton, Ohio area. After managing horse farms for about 15 years, she returned to school to become an LVT. She graduated with honors from PIMA Medical Institute. She has had a collection of all types of animals over the years, from rodents and birds, to dogs, cats, and horses. When not at AEHR, she enjoys doing maintenance work at a good friend's horse farm. She also enjoys gardening, riding horses, and playing with her pups.

Rosemary

Rosemary was born and raised in San Diego, CA. She got her Vet Assistant Certification from PIMA a couple of years ago. She moved up to Sammamish about 1 year ago. She enjoys the variety of cases seen in emergency and learning a lot of new skills. When not at AEHR, she spends time with her wife, and their dogs (Max, 6 year old Poodle-mix, Charlie, 5 year old pit-dachshund mix, and their newly adopted 10 week old Bichon named Rubee). They especially enjoy hiking and spending time at the beach.

Cassie

Cassie was born in Bellingham, WA but raised on the San Juan Islands, WA. She moved to Mukilteo in her teen years where her family always had lots of different animals, birds, iguanas, rabbits, cats and dogs. She graduated from PIMA medical institute as a veterinary assistant and began working at AEHR where the fast pace is always exciting and keeps her on her toes. She soon will begin further training for her LVT. When not working, Cassie spends her time with family, friends and her Great Dane Alita.
